The energy costs for the CARICOM Secretariat buildings are significant. The management in the CARICOM Secretariat is committed to reducing these costs and leading by example for all member states to address the issue of energy management and energy efficiency in all public buildings in the Caribbean. An energy audit was undertaken in November 2010 and this revealed a list of prioritized energy efficiency opportunities. The REETA project will provide technical assistance to CARICOM Secretariat to actively pursue these opportunities through improved energy management and energy efficiency interventions.
