Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and Germany’s Ambassador to the Community His Excellency Holger Michael exchanged Letters of Agreement in respect of a financial contribution of 25,500,000 euros from the German Development Bank (KfW) to the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF).
The exchange took place at the CARICOM Secretariat’s, Georgetown, Guyana Headquarters on Tuesday during Ambassador Michael’s farewell call on the Secretary-General.
The CBF is dedicated to providing a sustainable flow of resources to support activities that contribute substantially to the conservation, protection and maintenance of biodiversity in the Caribbean. The project for which the financial contribution is earmarked is “Regional Integration for Marine Protection”.
