President David Granger, this morning, met with CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque at the Ministry of the Presidency. The President indicated to Ambassador LaRocque that his Government respects the rule of law and will abide by the ruling of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).
“I am prepared to comply with every ruling of the court,” the President said.
President Granger committed to the holding of credible elections and noted that he will be inviting Opposition Leader, Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo to a meeting soon.
The Head of State assured Ambassador LaRocque that there is no chaos as a result of the CCJ’s ruling and maintained that his Government will continue to abide by the law.
