CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and Romania's Foreign Minister Mr Teodor Melescanu on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding setting up a Mechanism for advancing cooperation between CARICOM and Romania in a number of areas, including science and technology, education, research, climate change and disaster management, and agriculture.

Romanian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Mr Dan Neculaescu was on hand to personally welcome CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque on his arrival in Romania last Saturday to attend the Conference on Building Resilience to Natural Resources.
