A Regional High Level Seminar on Statistics focusing on the 2020 Round of Population and Housing Census and the Recommendations from the seminar are to feed into the High Level Advocacy Forum on Statistics which will be held on Friday, also in Grenada.
Regional Strategy for the Development of Statistics (RSDS) got underway in St. George’s, Grenada, Thursday morning.
The Seminar at the Grenada Trade Centre explores the role of the Census in the implementation of the RSDS.
Sessions will look at the leadership and management of the RSDS, statistical standardisation and harmonisation through the RSDS, and statistical literacy through the Strategy. Participants will also hold discussions on the use of non-traditional sources of data and gender mainstreaming.
Recommendations from the seminar are to feed into the High Level Advocacy Forum on Statistics which will be held on Friday, also in Grenada.
Presentations will be done by representatives of the CARICOM Secretariat, CARICOM Member States, International Development Partners, the University of the West Indies and other stakeholders.
