The CARICOM Committee of Ambassadors – comprising Ambassadors of Member States accredited to the Caribbean Community – met in Guyana, Tuesday, to discuss matters related to their role in advancing the work of the Community.
The Committee of Ambassadors is an important element in the CARICOM governance structure, focusing on advancing the integration movement, and providing strategic advice and recommendations to the Community Council towards achieving that goal.
The Community Council, which comprises Ministers responsible for CARICOM Affairs in Member States and which is the second highest organ of the Community, meets in Guyana on Wednesday. The Ministers are expected to deliberate on, among other things, the matters proposed for the upcoming CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting, scheduled for 4 – 6 July in Saint Lucia.
