Agreement Establishing the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC)

Objectives

This Agreement provides for the establishment of the CCCC Centre, the objective of which includes: protection of the climate system of Members of the Centre for the benefit of present and future generations of their peoples; enhancing regional institutional capabilities for the co-ordination of national responses to the negative effects of climate change; providing comprehensive policy and technical support in the area of climate change and related issues and spearheading regional initiatives in those areas; and performing the role of executing agency for regional environmental projects relating to climate change.

Entry into Force:

Provisionally being applied in accordance with the Protocol on the Provisional Application of the CCCCC. According to Article 37 - This Agreement shall enter into force upon the deposit of the seventh Instrument of Ratification with the Government of the host country.
